Future Publications
WBO's Publication Directions and Release Approach

This page outlines WBO's publication directions and release approach, helping readers understand how WBO intends to produce public-facing outputs over time. The publication roadmap will be refined as practice progresses, with updates communicated through official channels.

Publication Directions

WBO's future publications will center on a shared language of cognitive capability, methodological principles, and cross-context adoption — serving long-term reference, cross-cultural communication, and responsible use. Content will focus on framework-oriented, methodology-oriented, and practice-oriented materials, maintained with clear boundaries and designed for sustainable iteration.

Planned Output Types

Over time, WBO will develop a set of stable publication formats to serve different depths and purposes:

· Annual reviews and periodic reports — regular overviews of research progress and system development;

· Methodology notes and reference updates — explanatory documents on standards and assessment definitions;

· Thematic briefs — observations and analysis on specific topics;

· Public and educational guidance — introductory materials for non-specialist readers;

· Terminology and definition references — foundational reference tools to support consistent communication.

Release Approach

WBO advances publications in phases and updates them on a rolling basis. Different formats mature alongside research progress and practice-based feedback, and may be revised when warranted. Significant adjustments will be communicated through official channels to support consistency in citation and long-term use.

Use and Citation

Future releases are intended for public reference and responsible citation. Scope and boundaries will be indicated in the relevant publication information. When referencing or using WBO publications externally, we recommend citing the most current official version and retaining version information for traceability.
